About

Me, obviously

Hi, I’m Julian! #

I am a Senior Technology Consultant specializing in Data Science and AI at Valtech Mobility in Munich. My focus is on helping clients design insightful, high-performance, and scalable data solutions for connected mobility.

My technical expertise spans a range of industry-leading tools and platforms, including Python for data analysis and development, Spark for large-scale data processing, Airflow for workflow automation, Jenkins for continuous integration, Grafana for monitoring and analytics, Azure for cloud-based solutions, Docker for containerization, and Spotfire for advanced data visualization.

I hold a PhD in Social Sciences from LMU Munich, where my research explored user decision-making in search engine environments. Prior to transitioning to the tech industry, I spent over a decade in academic media and communication research, delving into the impact of algorithmically curated media. I also co-authored a textbook on empirical social science research methods.

In my free time, I’m an avid pop culture enthusiast; chances are that you will encounter me at my favorite cinema. During my studies, I’ve worked as a freelance film critic and I continue to write at least one sentence about every movie I watch.
